Christy and Michael met on Folly Beach and both fell in love with the island. One of their greatest loves is the older historic beach houses scattered about the island. Unfortunately, many are demolished to build larger homes destroying the character of the island. Christy and Michael saved four of these treasures and converted three of them into what is known as Beachside Boutique Inn.
The 4th building, a 1930’s beach house, was converted into a quaint dental office next to the inn where Christy practices dentistry.
Beachside Boutique Inn is a unique inn located on Folly Island in SC. The Inn has many themed rooms to suite your needs.

Your dream vacation is only moments away thanks to two gentlemen, Paul Lauer and Ivan Block. Ivan began traveling to Folly Beach in the 80s and fell in love with the charm this small island has to offer. Along with his family, Ivan has spent the summers at his beach house on Folly and resides in the Greenville area the rest of the year and enjoys traveling around the world on his sailboat. From his friendship with local hotelier and owner of Water’s Edge Inn, Paul Lauer, the concept of the Regatta Inn was born. Ivan’s diverse background in business and love of sailing and Paul’s architectural ingenuity came together to design the newest hotel on the island of Folly Beach!
Along with ten beautiful guest rooms, our boutique hotel offers three event spaces, the Maria Camila Bay after Ivan’s niece, Grant Bay after Paul’s son, and the Madeline Bell Terrace after Paul’s daughter. The visions of these two friends have brought upscale lodging to Folly Beach.

It doesn’t matter if you want to grab a surfboard and hang ten, or grab a cocktail and hang out. Around here, things are different. There are no shopping malls, no billboards, no giant office buildings. Just six miles of golden sandy beaches, the East Coast’s longest fishing pier, local dives and burger joints and a hip Bohemian Village vibe. Plus, some of the most interesting characters you’ll ever meet can be found with a walk down Center Street. It’s all here at Folly Beach. It’s all calling your name. And we guarantee you’ll have something to talk about. No wonder locals call it “The Edge of America.”
